A heart or vascular condition impacts your heart, arteries, veins and blood flow, which can affect your overall health. Some people are born with a cardiac condition. Some people develop a condition over time.

Some things may put you at higher risk of developing a condition.

Risk factors for heart and vascular conditions include:

  • High cholesterol and triglyceride levels
  • High blood pressure
  • Smoking
  • Diabetes

Our team is dedicated to improving health outcomes for people with heart and vascular conditions.

What We Treat

Our team of cardiologists treat many heart and vascular conditions, including:

  • Congenital heart disease
  • Cardiac arrhythmia
  • Vascular disease
  • Endovascular conditions

We offer a wide range of treatment options, including image guided therapy, which is a new technology that makes minimally invasive therapy more efficient. You and your provider will discuss what treatments are best for you.

What to Expect

If you have a condition or concern that you’d like to discuss with our experienced cardiology team, talk to your primary care provider about getting a referral.

After you’ve been referred to a cardiologist, you’ll set up an appointment. If you have any specific questions in the meantime, you can contact your care team through OSF MyChart.

When you meet with the cardiovascular team, you’ll talk about your conditions, what you’ve experienced and your symptoms. Feel free to ask as many questions as you have. Your provider will work with you to determine the best next step.
