Ambulatory Care

Ambulatory Care provides a wide variety of services in a highly convenient setting. We offer a number of tests, therapies, procedures and other kinds of care that do not require admission to the hospital. Another term for this is “outpatient care.”

What kinds of testing can be done through Ambulatory Care?

Ambulatory care nurses | OSF Saint Clare Medical CenterAmbulatory Care at OSF Saint Clare performs tests for the Department of Transportation, businesses and individuals.

These tests include a 10-panel drug screen with same-day results, as well as urine drug testing, nicotine drug testing and breath alcohol testing. Drug screens are completed by D.O.T.-certified personnel and confirmation testing is completed by a lab certified by SAMSHA (Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration). Breath alcohol testing is done by certified breath alcohol technicians.

We offer on-site breath alcohol and drug testing for schools and businesses and a free consortium for contracted employers who require random drug testing/screening. Our department also offers D.O.T. and pre-employment physicals.
