Benefits of the hospitalist program include shorter hospital stays, increased patient satisfaction, and better communication with providers.
(Patients admitted for any behavioral health or obstetrical concerns will continue to be seen by a specialist.)
Patient Satisfaction
Focusing solely on in-hospital care, hospitalist physicians don't have to juggle a busy office schedule with office rounds. Surveys show that patients are happy with this new method of care. In fact, the majority of patients report a higher degree of satisfaction than ever before!
The hospitalist program also benefits patients who are not hospitalized. They can have piece of mind knowing their doctor is able to devote more time to their office visit without being pulled away for a hospitalized patient.
Our Team
Our inpatient unit is staffed 24 hours a day by hospitalist physicians and a complete support staff to ensure the continuity of care for our patients. These individuals work with your own personal physician to inform them of all major care decisions and discharge summaries made during your stay.
If you or a loved one are hospitalized with a serious illness, you may wish to seek specialized, medical treatment called palliative care. It is provided by a team of doctors, nurses and other specialists who work with a patient’s other doctors to provide an extra layer of support. Palliative care is appropriate at any age, any stage in an illness and can be provided together with curative treatment.
