All of our nurses are trained in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Many are also trained in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Trauma Nurses Core Curriculum (TNCC).

More than 18,000 people come to the Emergency Department each year for care. No one is turned away, regardless of ability to pay.

The OSF St. Francis Emergency Department also serves as Medical Control for Delta County, responsible for overseeing all of the ambulance services in the area.

Ambulance Services

Patients who may need to be transferred to another facility may choose ground or air ambulance services.

Ground transportation is provided through Rampart EMS.

Air ambulance services are provided by Guardian Flight, with its hangar and flight crew housed on the OSF St. Francis Hospital campus. Guardian Flight is owned by Utah-based Air Medical Resource Group, the fourth largest air medical provider in the nation.
