Gastroenterology

Gastroenterology is the study of the normal function and disorders of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, rectum, pancreas, gallbladder, bile duct and liver.

Our patients are served by independent board-certified gastroenterologists. Our team is highly skilled, licensed nursing professionals with ICU, surgery, and recovery experience, as well as Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification and specialized training. Twenty-four hour coverage is provided with the on-call staff.

Gastroenterologists (commonly called GI doctors) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington offer advanced GI procedures for pancreas and biliary disease such as Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS).
