Our volunteers make a difference in the lives of our patients, visitors, and caregivers and are an essential part of our team at Sacred Heart Medical Center. We are so grateful for each person who devotes their time and care to making a positive difference in the lives of others.
Volunteer roles fall into the following categories:
Team members welcome patients and visitors and/or escort them to the appropriate locations via walking or wheelchair transport at the main hospital entrance. They also take the hospitality cart to different units to bring comfort and joy to patients and families.
Team members serve in specific areas of the hospital in a variety of ways, such as providing office/clerical support, stocking/keeping things organized, helping in the gift shop, and working on special or seasonal projects.
Team members help to make each patient’s hospital stay or outpatient experience more pleasant by providing personal attention in an unhurried manner.
These tasks may include passing trays/water, providing a warm blanket, being a patient companion, answering the phone, stocking supplies and light cleaning.
