Cardiac Calcium Scoring

Calcium Scoring is a non-invasive study of the arteries in your heart. We are now requiring an order from your physician to conduct the test.

Preparing for Your Test

There are no special prep instructions for this test.

What to Expect

Please allow 30 minutes for the entire process, as emergency room patients will take priority.

Because it is a screening examination, cardiac calcium scoring is not covered under most insurance companies or Medicare. Payment is due at the time of service. The cost of the exam is $138, and we accept cash, check, or credit card. We will not bill your insurance.

The price includes both the scan and the review and reporting of the results by the cardiologist.

Test Results

The results of your exam will be interpreted by a cardiologist and a written report will be mailed to your home.

Hours & Location

This test is performed at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center from Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please enter through the Main Entrance (Entrance A).
