Good health and body weight are two different concepts. You may find that you lose weight when you adapt healthy eating habits and an exercise plan. Or, you may be able to improve your metabolic health at your own shape and size. Maybe your weight is contributing to your health problems, and weight loss may be helpful.
Weight loss medications, or weight loss surgery may options for some people. The goal of the OSF Weight Management program is to help you find your path to healthy living, and that may be different for each person.
Here are the steps you need to take before beginning any program at the OSF Weight Management Center:
Contact your insurance company if you have any questions on coverage for our services. You will be billed for an office visit (CPT Code 99202-99215) and generally, the primary diagnosis code will be obesity and any other related diagnoses as appropriate.
Ask your doctor to refer you to the OSF Weight Management Center. We will then call you to schedule your first appointment.
At your first appointment, we will get to know you and learn about your medical and weight loss history. We will discuss the program options and make a plan that suits you best. The basic program options are:
