OSF Divine Mercy Continuing Care Hospital
Our hospital has a lot to offer you on the journey to improved health. If you have questions about visiting that are not answered in the Visitor Information section, please give us a call.
General visiting hours are daily from 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
Due to the critical nature of the care being given, your loved one may have special visiting hours or other restrictions.
We recommend immediate family only. If you require extended family visits, please limit the number in the room. Waiting areas are available for family and friends.
Children younger than 12 are welcome in common or family waiting areas. They are not permitted on the units. Children must be supervised at all times to ensure their safety and the safety of our patients.
Visitor parking at our hospital is free of charge.
Public restrooms are located throughout the hospital. Because patient restroom doors do not lock, visitors should use only public restrooms to ensure privacy.
We are a smoke-free campus per the Smoke-free Illinois Act. Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the hospital. Associates and security will enforce this policy.
Cards and flowers sent by family and friends are delivered daily. Live plants and flowers are not allowed in the ICU/High Acuity Unit. Mail received after discharge will be forwarded. Flowers delivered after you leave the hospital, however, will be returned to the florist.
We ask that all visitors observe general hygiene practices when entering and leaving patient rooms. This includes disinfecting hands using the sanitizer dispensers conveniently placed around the hospital.
For visitors of patients who are under special infection-control precautions or isolation, please read the isolation signs, check with the patient’s nurse, and make sure you understand and cooperate with the required precautions. Visitors to patients in isolation should use good hand-washing techniques and wear the proper attire, as directed by the nursing staff.
To maintain the health of those in our hospital, visitors should be well and free of infections. Please refrain from visiting if you have a cough, runny nose or congestion, sore throat, body aches, unusual weakness or tiredness, fever, rash, open sores, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. Please do not visit if you have had exposure to any contagious diseases such as chickenpox, measles or mumps.
Where available, guest meal trays can be requested with two hours’ advance notice. There may be a small charge for a guest tray, and we limit guests to one tray per patient meal. Please ask your loved one’s nurse about availability if you would like to request a meal tray.
Vending machines are accessible 24 hours a day in our hospital cafeteria.
