2020 AHA Instructor Guidelines

They are here! Here is your "How To" when it comes to ensuring you are up-to-date with the latest from the AHA.

First Step: Review the recorded sessions from the 2020 Guideline Release Day Live webinars. Links are below:

Second Step: Complete your 2020 AHA Instructor Updates Online

Each instructor will need to complete all Instructor Update courses for disciplines they teach PRIOR TO FEBRUARY 1st, 2021. This includes BLS Instructors who teach Heartsaver Classes. You will need to complete the BLS and Heartsaver modules.

How do you take the update course? Easy! Log in to elearing.heart.org using your Instructor Network credentials. It is important you DO NOT create a new account. If you are unable to log in or do not remember your information, call AHA Instructor Network support at 1-888-242-8883.

After logging in, navigate to Courses tab and then select Instructor Training. These courses are free to instructors. You must complete the Instructor Update for each discipline you teach. At course completion you will receive CE and a certificate. Please retain this certificate, as you will need to submit it to the TC.

After successful completion of your Instructor Updates, please submit all course completion certificates to AHARosters@OSFHealthCare.org.

Third Step: Order your 2020 guidelines Instructor materials for each discipline you teach.

Each discipline is getting new Instructor Manuals and video content. There are digital options (with downloading) for both. Please make whatever decision makes the most sense for you and your courses.

Order AHA Materials will handle all your AHA need's. Please note, our TC is only authorized to order directly from the American Heart Association. If you are using another vendor, please use ShopCPR. The AHA controls pricing on its entire product line and there are no differences among authorized resellers.

Final Step: Review and download the Interim Training Material

Interim Materials are available on the Instructor Network under Science and Guidelines News.
