Ride Along Program

Sister Judith Ann in OSF Life Flight helicopterOSF Life Flight is pleased to offer health care and emergency service providers an opportunity to participate in our ride-along program. This observation opportunity is open to all active paramedics, EMTs, registered nurses, law enforcement personnel, fire department personnel and physicians.

The weight restriction for helicopter ride-along participants is 220 pounds, and the applicant must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants must also be in good health, physically fit and not have a fear of confined spaces.

This experience is a great way for health care and emergency service providers to understand the role of air medical transport better, and experience what it is like to care for patients in the critical care transport environment.

All applicants for ride-alongs will need proof of COVID-19 vaccination and supply their own N-95 mask.

Step One: Submit an Application

Please select your preferred base and complete the online application and emergency contact information. Participants are only able to submit a request for one base.
