In partnership with the Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network, our hospitals offer families of donor heroes the option of an Honor Walk.
An Honor Walk provides families and Mission Partners a moment of silence to reflect on an organ or tissue donor's life and generous gift.
The choice to participate in an Honor Walk is strictly voluntary.
When it's time to transport the donor to the operating room, a tribute is read, and prayer is spoken at the donor's room.
Then, participating Mission Partners line the hallway as the donor is escorted by loved ones to the operating room.
After a moment of silence, the donor is taken to the OR, and the Honor Walk ends.
