Since our founding in 1877 by six pioneer Franciscan sisters, the Mission of OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center has been to serve persons with the greatest care and love in a community that celebrates the Gift of Life. That means we keep the patient at the center of all we do. At OSF Saint Francis, we are faithful in helping meet our patients’ needs—body, mind, and spirit.
Over the years OSF St. Francis has grown to become the fourth largest medical center in Illinois. Our facility has a medical staff of 850+ physicians, 5,000+ employees and 600+ patient beds. OSF St. Francis is the area’s only Level 1 Trauma Center and a major affiliate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria.
OSF Saint Francis is the home of OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois, OSF Illinois Neurological Institute (INI), the OSF Cardiovascular Institute, the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Jump Trading Simulation and Education Center and more. To learn more, visit osfhealthcare.org/saint-francis.
OSF Saint Francis is proud to call Peoria home. As a compassionate “Community of Caregivers,” we work together to continue to grow and serve our community with the greatest care and love. When you support OSF HealthCare you become part of our Mission. We could not do this work without you.
OSF Children's Hospital of Illinois
In the heart of Central Illinois, you’ll find OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois, whose beginnings lie with the Sisters’ compassion for youth. OSF Children’s Hospital was officially established as a pediatric hospital in 1990. Today, the hospital has 136 beds, with more than 115 pediatric specialists representing more than 40 pediatric sub-specialties.
Almost Home Kids
What happens when kids with complicated medical needs are ready to leave the hospital but not quite ready to go home? OSF HealthCare Almost Home Kids is there for them. With the generous support of this community, OSF HealthCare Almost Home Kids opened in September 2018–only the third home of its kind and the first purpose-built AHK ever. Heller Center for Kids with Cancer
The Heller Center for Kids with Cancer at OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois provides the next critical step in the journey of cancer survivors and their families. It was established in February 2016 by a $2,000,000 gift from John and Annette Heller, who had a vision for helping local kids and families live a full life beyond cancer. Donate NowExceptional cancer care for the Peoria community is closer to being a reality.
At OSF, we envision a level of cancer treatment that offers care as good as top cancer centers in the nation, in a faith-based environment, here at home. With extraordinary philanthropic support, this vision will be realized.
A comprehensive cancer center at OSF will be a place where we will do better than merely fight cancer. We will forever improve the way cancer is treated in our communities, giving families hope and healing by treating the whole patient–body, mind, and spirit. For more information, click here.
